How we helped UNIFi3D get 178 interested salons in 2 months, so many they paused the free offer
Cold email to US nail and lash salons for Glossy Muse, UNIFi3D's press-on brand, testing free samples against a paid trial kit

Introduction
UNIFi3D helps the fashion and beauty industry go digital, creating and selling products digitally at scale and promoting sustainable consumption. Its brand Glossy Muse makes 3D handcrafted press-on nails and lash products, shipped across the US, and wanted to get them into salons.
The Challenge
Glossy Muse needed to find out, fast, whether US salons would want its products.
A new brand in a crowded market → salons get offers from beauty suppliers all the time, so a new name has to earn attention quickly.
Two kinds of salon → nail salons and lash salons buy different products and needed their own message.
Interest had to be tested, not assumed → the team wanted to know who would try the product, and who would pay to try it.
What We Built
We ran Glossy Muse’s cold email to US salons and tested the offer while it ran.
Nail and lash salons, separately. Each segment got its own campaign and copy, with make-up artists added later.
Free sample, then a paid trial kit. We started with a free sample, then switched to a paid trial kit once replies outpaced what the team could send, and kept testing both.
Every positive reply captured. Interested salons landed in a live master sheet with enriched company data, follow-ups went out automatically, and repeat replies pinged the team in Slack.
Reporting they could act on. Weekly dashboards showed sends, replies and where interest came from, down to city and state.
“
We want to hold off on the free gift offering because the positive reply is way above our expectations.

The Outcome
Glossy Muse got more salon interest than it expected, in its first weeks of outbound.
Step 01
Free sample
17.2 positive replies a day in week one
Step 02
Paid kit
Interest held up with a price attached
Result
178
Interested replies in about 2 months
178 interested replies in about 2 months → from US nail and lash salons and make-up artists.
17.2 positive replies a day in the first week → enough that the team paused the free-sample offer.
47.6% of all replies were positive → nearly half of everyone who replied wanted to hear more.
Why It Worked
An easy first yes. A free sample gave salons a simple reason to reply.
Testing the offer live. Moving from free to paid showed how much interest held up when there was a price.
A segment per salon type. Nail and lash salons each heard a pitch about their own work.
