Introduction

Amanda AI is a Stockholm company that has been building a fully autonomous ad platform since 2018. It sets up, runs and optimises campaigns across Google, Meta and Bing, so marketing teams stop doing the manual work by hand. By its own numbers it manages more than 1,800 ad accounts for over 500 agencies and businesses, with more than €30M in yearly ad spend running through the platform. Amanda AI sells to e-commerce and lead-generation companies that already advertise on Google, and to the agencies that run those accounts.

The Challenge

Amanda AI had strong client results and no outbound message that reliably worked.

No proven copy → in their own words, past outbound “varied a lot” and left no clear takeaways.
A product people feared → performance marketers often saw an autonomous ad platform as a threat to their jobs, not a tool.
Objections at every door → “we already have an agency”, “we run it in-house” and “Google’s automation is enough” came up before the product was ever explained.
A narrow, hard-to-spot buyer → the platform only fits companies already spending on Google Ads, and nothing in a normal contact list shows who does.

What We Built

We ran Amanda AI’s outbound from A to Z: market mapping, messaging, and a steady stream of new campaign angles, all through cold email.

  1. Find the companies already running ads. We targeted companies with Google Tag Manager installed or live paid ads, and opened every email with that observation, so the relevance was obvious in the first line.

  2. Speak the buyer’s language. Campaigns ran in Swedish and Danish for the Nordic markets and in English for the UK and the rest of Europe.

  3. Match the proof to the prospect. Web shops and non-web shops got separate campaigns, each backed by the Amanda AI client results that fit them best.

  4. Make it fun to reply to. A humour-led angle pictured the AI taking over the endless tweaks, so marketers could spend that time on the creative work instead.

  5. Turn agencies into partners. Rather than treating agencies as the objection, a dedicated campaign pitched Amanda AI to Google Ads agencies as a tool for their own client accounts, and C-level e-commerce leaders got a head-to-head angle against Google’s own Performance Max.

Angles we tested

01

Signal-led

Every email opened with something we could see: Google Tag Manager installed or ads already running.

02

Local language

Swedish and Danish for the Nordic markets, English for the UK and the rest of Europe.

03

Humour

A light-hearted angle about handing the endless tweaks to the AI and getting time back for the creative work.

04

Agency partners

Google Ads agencies pitched on Amanda AI as a tool for their own client accounts, not as a competitor.

The Outcome

Cold email became a steady source of sales conversations for Amanda AI, with no LinkedIn or calling involved.

Step 01

Signal

Google Tag Manager installed or paid ads live

Step 02

3 languages

Swedish, Danish and English campaigns

Amanda AI campaign dashboard showing leads, emails sent, replies, positive replies and bounces per campaign

Amanda AI’s campaign dashboard: leads, emails sent, replies, positive replies and bounces per campaign across the Nordics, the UK and Europe.

  • 4 meetings a week → booked through email alone, with marketing agencies and e-commerce companies.

  • Agencies became the strongest segment → the partner campaigns produced more interest than any other campaign, which shaped where Amanda AI focused next.

  • Local language paid off → in Denmark more than 1 in 5 replies was positive, against 1 in 12 for the English campaign in the UK.

  • A message that finally worked → after outbound with no clear winners, Amanda AI had proven angles for brands and for agencies.

Why It Worked

  1. A signal instead of a guess. Leading with the prospect’s own Tag Manager setup or live ads proved the email was meant for them.

  2. The objection became the market. Agencies, the group most likely to say no as buyers, said yes as partners.

  3. We kept testing angles. Separate languages, segments and tones, from straight ROI to humour, showed exactly what worked where, so we could double down on it.
